New Series Better Ways To Read The Bible Starts September 27Beginning September 27, this year’s Fall Growth Series is a study of Better Ways to Read the Bible: Transforming a Weapon of Harm into a Tool of Healing by Zach Lambert.
We have seen the Bible used countless times as something far from the "Good Book.” On a daily basis, the Bible is weaponized to subjugate women, justify racism, bash LGBTQ+ people, cover up abuse, and exclude people who speak out against these injustices. If you've been hurt by harmful interpretations or feel disconnected from Scripture, this book offers a path forward to reclaim the Bible's life-giving message. This accessible resource will help you:
In this compassionate guide, Zach Lambert dismantles four common lenses for reading the Bible that lead to harm, then offers four new lenses that promote healing and wholeness. This book welcomes all Christians – regardless of background, doubts, or wounds – to reengage Scripture in life-giving ways. To participate in the Fall Growth Series:

WelcomeWelcome to The Well.
If you're looking for a church where thinking, compassionate people can find a spiritual home and cultivate a Jesus-inspired life... You are welcome here, and so are your questions and doubts. You don't have to check your brain at the door, because if God created you with a brain, then it's okay to use it in church. The Bible and science are not enemies, and The Well is an open and affirming church, because we believe in interpreting the Bible wisely. And, ultimately, following Jesus is about how you live and love. The Well is a place to express both your faith and your doubts, so you can grow to become your best self, and partner with God to make a difference with your life. An example of what we mean by that was captured in articles about The Well in the East Valley Tribune and the SanTan Sun News. If that sounds like the kind of community you're interested in, we look forward to seeing you this Sunday! Ryan Gear Lead Pastor |
